Youth Leadership Polk Advisory Council
Youth Leadership Polk is a countywide program specifically developed to provide leadership training and expanded learning opportunities to high school aged youth. Modeled after Leadership Polk, Youth Leadership Polk (YLP) is designed to instill participants with a sense of belonging, expand their knowledge of the history and cultures of Polk County, support social and emotional development, build a foundation for making intelligent, lifelong personal- finance decisions, and help students develop well-articulated social skills and networks – and how to use them in exploring potential careers. The Youth Leadership Polk Advisory Council plays an instrumental role in advising Polk Vision as we continually develop the program to remain relevant to the needs of our community and the interests of our students. Many have served as student mentors, employability skills instructors, and judges for our Capstone Project Essays and Presentations.
